Either of a Parent who is Kenyan Citizen whose children’s births occurred abroad
Requirements for Foreign registration of Birth in our mission abroad

Original and copy of Birth Certificate from the country of birth (with English translation by the Embassy or a government-authorized institution).

Original and copy of Passport of the child (Kenyan or otherwise).

Original and copy of Kenyan ID and Passport of the Kenyan parent valid at the time of birth of the child, in case the other parent is not Kenyan, ID and/or passport from country of origin.

If a child is over 18 years of age, they are required to have an original and copy of their Kenyan passport or declaration of citizenship, or an original and copy of the letter regaining Kenyan citizenship.

In case one parent does not have identification documents, they should swear an affidavit or present a divorce decree.

Dully filled out BDA 1 form (Application for registration of birth of a citizen of Kenya occurring abroad).
